The “Understated Songbook” is a collaborative text-score by Bryan Eubanks and Koen Nutters. It combines self-generating cyclical structures with textural suggestions and weighed interaction, and creates long-form pieces for multi-sectioned ensemble, circling around the core of the ‘main’ trio consisting of analogue synth, upright bass, and percussion that’s looking for music in the little spaces just before “Music” happens.
This premiere of the performance presented by Yellow Solo will feature the main trio, plus a reed and a brass section.
